We believe that every community needs a place to go to celebrate the better things in life like new jobs, relationships, good friends and happy families.

And to us, that place has always been the local brewpub. So in 2012, Steve McFate built Fate’s Tap + Barrel in North Scottsdale to be the place in our community we’d take our best friends to.

From the beginning, we earned tremendous neighborhood support and the Fate crew made a lot of good friends with regular patrons throughout the years. It wasn’t long, however, before we encountered an unexpected problem; we kept running out of our own beer! Our small brewhouse couldn’t keep up with demand and it was time to expand with a second location in South Scottsdale in 2015.

Fate began with a small 7 barrel brewhouse and 14 barrels of fermentation space in North Scottsdale and has since expanded to a 15 barrel brewhouse with a whopping 180 barrels of fermentation space at the South Scottsdale location.

Crowd favorite beers like Fate’s Fateful IPA, Buena Vista Blonde Ale and Fatality have become flagship beer of the Fate brand. Brewed every fall by popular demand is our prized Candy Bar Milk Stout™ which won a silver medal at the Great American Beer Festival® in 2013.

We proudly brew on an all-American manufactured brewhouse and you can find our head brewer Adam in the brewhouse just about every morning working on our next batch of Fate beer!

AZbottle Recommendations

We picked up a can of the Irish Red Ale from Tap & Bottle in Tucson, and we loved it! From Fate's website: Copper red, malt focused with initial sweetness and a dry, roasty finish. Low hop aroma, light hop flavor and medium body. It’s sure to bring out the Irish in ya.

At only 5.4% ABV, you can afford to drink like 52 of them in one night! I know it was hard to keep it at one, but knowing how good it is, we'll be back for more.
