About Tantrum Wines

Following a demoralizing and painful divorce that resulted in her closing down her own business, Brighid took her first job with a local Arizona winery tasting room in Jerome, AZ just to pay the bills. On that fateful day in 2012 Brighid found her passion. From the moment she stepped foot into that tasting room she became immersed in the culture of wine. Every ounce of her efforts went into discovering the story that wines have to tell.

Her time spent as a jack-of-all trades with an independent, family owned  winery meant no door was closed. Working in every aspect from the tasting room, to operations, sales, and self-distribution, marketing, public  relations, wine education and even lobbying. Brighid’s tenacity and drive afforded her opportunities to work in the vineyard during harvests, learn the hard realities of the crush and assist in winemaking, apprenticing  under Arizona wine pioneer, John McLoughlin.

In October 2015, John and Brighid were married and in 2017 and idea was  born. John had always encouraged Brighid to share her own ideas about wine from her diverse perspective and now he encouraged her to come out of the shadows and start making it.

Being a small family owned business with no investors and her need to craft a quality wine as a female winemaker meant the realization of that dream was slow and tough. In May of 2019, it was time. “Tantrum Wines reflect the moods and attitudes of women who move with a purpose. As the winemaker, I was in no rush and my wines demonstrate that intention.”
